Jim Snyder

Jim Snyder started out in Racquetball over thirty years ago.  During his racquetball career he coached at several clubs in Florida and Pennsylvania including the Healthplex in Springfield, PA.  He also taught indoor racquet sports at Montgomery County Community College.  While Racquetball Pro at the Healthplex, Jim took up squash and has played ever since.  He is now the Director of Squash at Malvern Prep and the Editor of Phillysquash.com.  He teaches squash for Chester County Night Squash and is the coach for the Malvern youth team in the Chestmont Squash League.

Jim is the co-founder of "Everyone Plays" along with Ron Koenig  and is dedicated to keeping young people active and on the squash courts.

Matt is a Junior at Malvern Prep and plays number 7 on the Malvern Squash Team.

Ron Koenig, originally from Germany, has worked the last 7 years in the local area as a squash coach and teacher.  He is a certified level two coach and is presently working at The Squash Club, Chestnut Hill.  He is also the varsity coach at Malvern Preparatory School. 

Ron’s passion for the game carries over into his teaching.  He believes strongly in the connection between mind and body and has introduced biofeedback theories in his instruction.  Ron will be a regular contributing author to PhillySquash.com.

I am a former classicist, would be scholar, technologist, squash coach and above all poet. I have spent most of my adult life reading the Cantos and trying to understand them, not unlike my life with squash; sometimes they cross paths in my psyche -- it happened when I read Canto 36 right before I interviewed Hisham Ashour at this years TOC. I wrote a blog posted on this site and began to think about including my readings of Pounds Cantos here as well. The master, I hope would be amused. These blogs are about my passions for squash and Pound's poetry and are dedicated to the most magnificent gift that was given to me, my son, Kyle
